Bill related to missing persons went missing on the way to the Senate. Shirin Mazar

Federal Minister for Human Rights Shirin Mazari on Wednesday revealed that the bill on missing persons had been passed by the National Assembly, but it is not known where he went missing on his way to the Senate.

“We have prepared a bill which has been approved by both the standing committee and the National Assembly,” Mazari said.

Talking to reporters, the Human Rights Minister said that after the approval of the National Assembly, the missing persons bill was supposed to be introduced in the Senate but it has gone missing.

It may be recalled that the Criminal Law Amendment Bill 2021 was passed by the National Assembly on November 8 last year. The bill was introduced in the Assembly by the Home Minister in June.

Nasrullah Baloch, chairman of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, said on a social networking site that the bill on missing persons was “lost” on the way to the Senate. It was ordered to provide the cases of the persons to the commission. What happened to them? It was said that it has not been received by the commission so far.
